How to Install the 7.0.1 Updater (MAC)
MINICAD 7.0.1 UPDATE INSTRUCTIONS
The update has several pieces, each updating a different portion of your MiniCAD 7.0.0 Installation. You will need to download the appropriate program updater, the Required Items AND the Toolkit files.
UPDATING YOUR APPLICATION
When you installed MiniCAD 7.0.0, you chose whether to install a fat binary version or a "thin" version specific to your machine. There are three updaters, one for the fat binary and one for each Macintosh platform (PowerPC or 680x0). You only need to use one of these for a particular installation.
The updater updates MiniCAD 7.0.0 ONLY. Simply run the updater and follow the instructions; it will create a new version of MiniCAD on your hard drive. If the updater fails to run, you may be using the wrong updater or you may be trying to update an incorrect version of MiniCAD.
UPDATING YOUR REQUIRED ITEMS
The "Required Items Update.sea" archive contains updates to OverlayEdit, overlays, externals, and release notes. When you expand this archive, you will have the following items: "Externals" folder, "Overlays" folder, "Release Notes" folder, and an "OverlayEdit 1.5.1" application.
CAUTION - If you have modified any data files in the External Data folder, your changes will be lost if you update them. You may want to back up the External Data folder before you proceed.
1 - Back up your Externals folder to a safe location. If you are using any third-party externals, you will need to copy these from your back-up folder to the updated "Externals" folder.
2 - Copy all of the items from the update folder into the same folder as your MiniCAD 7.0.0 or MiniCAD 7.0.1 application.
3 - Respond yes when the system asks you if you want to replace duplicate files.
UPDATING YOUR TOOLKIT
Because of its size, only the changed folders are included in the archive "7.0.1 Toolkit Changes.sea." After extracting the archive by double-clicking it, you will have three folders.
Drag the "2 Mechanical Engineering" and "Goodies" folders from this archive into your Toolkit folder. Respond yes when the system asks you if you want to replace the existing copies.
Drag the "Theatrical Lighting" folder into the your "Toolkit:6 Design" folder. Respond yes when the system asks you if you want to replace the existing copies.
