eDispatch Vol 70

In a few years, I think we’ll look back on the VectorWorks 2008 launch as the break-out release of VectorWorks Landmark. Over the last few years it has become our fastest growing product, and now the user base is large enough that we are a leading landscaping technology in several of our global markets. In Australia, for example, VectorWorks Landmark accounts for nearly one in three new VectorWorks users. When I look at the quality of the output produced with VectorWorks Landmark, combined with the ability to turn this same drawing into accurate construction drawings and schedules, it is no surprise why new customers are choosing us in droves.

We find that many of these new VectorWorks Landmark customers are switching to us from either no CAD system or their first-generation choice. So it makes sense that we start the year with a bevy of new training materials to get all of these customers started with VectorWorks. The final training CDs have finally arrived, matched with the launch of the newest round of classroom training in the U.S. In addition, Jonathan Pickup has produced an excellent manual with a companion disk.

We could also use your help to spread the word about VectorWorks, whether it’s Landmark or any of our other products. One of the best ways we’ve found to do this is by telling your stories. People new to the world of VectorWorks like to hear from designers in their own field, and we love to share your successes. If you know of anyone who is doing exciting work in VectorWorks or using VectorWorks in a particularly unique way and is willing to talk about it, we’d love to hear from you. Please contact Michelle Ervin at mervin@nemetschek.net and let her know how VectorWorks is used to advance your designs.

Sincerely,
Sean Flaherty
