| Last month marked the sixth month of the VectorWorks 2008 release, with spectacular results. The end of last year and the first part of this year have been record periods for Nemetschek North America. Along with an overall good economy, Europe, in particular, has seen strong sales as it continues to show strong investment in the construction sector. We continue to have 40 percent or more of our sales coming from new users who are joining the ranks of enthusiastic customers. Although I'm always happy with good results, it also provides a challenge to continue growth in the future. For those of you in the building design markets, you may have noticed that we are talking about Building Information Modeling (BIM) much more frequently. VectorWorks has provided BIM capabilities for years, but we want to make sure we continue to be on the cutting edge. We're interested in hearing from you if you're collaborating with other disciplines or products, so we can learn more about how your BIM workflow happens. We're especially interested in the use of Industry Foundation Classes (IFC) as a collaboration tool. Please contact Alison O'Brien, product marketing manager, at aobrien@nemetschek.net and share your advanced uses of VectorWorks. This will also help us identify with which other products we should focus our collaboration testing. |
