South Bay User Group Meeting
This month's meeting will focus on the basics of 3D Architectural modeling. The hybrid objects in VW provide a great start on a 3D model, even if you are only working in 2D. This month we will explore some of the tools in more depth and see how, with a little extra work, you can gain a lot of extra value in your 3D model.

Santa Barbara VectorWorks User Group Meeting
Michael Klaers will do a demonstration - and we will have a lot of time for questions. It is not necessary to bring a laptop; we will be discussing and demonstrating tips and tricks, and I think you'll find it more helpful to take notes and participate in the discussion. Also, I can't guarantee access to power. That being said, feel free to bring a laptop. Come armed with questions. Anything from really basic to really advanced is fair game. Please forward this to anyone you think might be interested.

The campus is in Goleta, right next to the Santa Barbara Airport. You can take Hwy 217/Ward Memorial Blvd from Hwy 101. It will dead end at the main entrance to the campus. Take a right on Mesa Road at the roundabout. Turn Left on Ocean Road. Follow Ocean Road (it takes a couple of odd corners) to Parking Lot 23. Parking is $2.00 (or $3.00?) payable at the machine at the far end of the lot. It takes credit cards or bills. It will give you a receipt to put on your dashboard. While standing at the parking machine the Theater and Dance building will be at your 11:00. Go around to the left side of the building through the break in the wall into a courtyard. New York VectorWorks User Group Meeting
Join us at the Apple store in SoHo to see two demonstrations. LaserPlans USA will be presenting an overview of their new suite of services designed specially for Architects that are destined to transform the architectural industry. Then, representatives from NNA will present the secrets of converting your 2D drawings into 3D models. Several techniques will be demonstrated for example: converting simple polylines into intelligent objects such as Spaces or Walls.
