VectorWorks User David Kamp of Dirtworks Named 2007 Fellow of the American Society of Landscape Architects
Columbia, Maryland (May 8, 2007)Nemetschek North America is pleased to announce that David Kamp, founder and president of Dirtworks, PC, Landscape Architecture, has been named to the prestigious Council of Fellows of the American Society of Landscape Architects and will be inducted at the annual convention this fall.
David Kamp’s distinguished career includes the design of a range of domestic and international, public, institutional, commercial, corporate, and residential projects. His award-winning designs for special-needs populations are examples of his belief in the power of nature to enhance our everyday lives and his commitment to design sensory-rich, accessible spaces for the full range of the human condition. These designs, ranging from restorative gardens to outdoor learning environments, are based on a real understanding of medical and social needs.
His firm, Dirtworks, PC, was awarded the 2007 Excellence in Landscape Architecture Award from the AIA – CAE/Society of College and University Planners (SCUP) for the Outdoor Learning Environment for Natural Sciences at Keene State College. In 2006, Dirtworks received the ASLA Honor Award in General Design and the Honor Award from the American Society of Landscape Architects – New York Chapter for the Elizabeth and Nona Evans Restorative Garden at the Cleveland Botanical Garden.
Throughout his career, David has consistently promoted landscape architecture within the design community to health care audiences and the general public. Mr. Kamp is co-founder of Meristem, an educational, non-profit organization promoting nature’s role in the improvement of human health and well being. Recently, Mr. Kamp co-convened a forum at the New York Academy of Medicine to explore nature’s role in supporting community and public health.
